I have no idea what I’m doing in the above photo. But what I do know about myself, is that I am a storyteller to my core. Whether I'm story-producing a tv show, chasing a story down in the field, developing an original format, creating a brand narrative, or simply telling a tale at a party.
I started my career as a copywriter at a branded entertainment agency creating music and sports-related content and experiences. During that time, I worked on a branded documentary series for Spotify called, “Music Happens Here." I thought to myself, what if I made stuff like this every day?
And so I did. I hopped over to the documentary and reality TV world, starting at the bottom and learning an entirely new industry from the ground up. And what an adventure it has been…
I learned what it was like to be a real-life Hollywood Executive Assistant (yikes).
I story-produced TV series about sailing, murder, lost gold, arranged marriage, and the makings of a delicious lamb brisket.
I learned how to field-produce on the fly while embedding with a Native American tribe in Montana and telling their stories.
I worked in development, where I applied my creativity outside the confines of a creative brief. I wanted to be the person who took big swings. So I pitched wild and splashy original concepts to major networks.
And while I worked in many different roles in the TV production pipeline, the one they all had in common was writing.
I wrote countless decks on everything under the sun, like sharks, drug use, money heists, socialites, tattoos, and Beyonce.
I wrote series scripts, research documents, sizzle reels, series bibles, network pitches, VO, one-sheets, treatments– you name it. And along the way, I learned how to apply, expand, and execute my craft and creativity in ways I had never thought possible.
If you're reading this now, you're probably here for a reason. And my guess is you’re looking for someone to help you create something. So let’s develop a TV show. Or concept a social campaign. Or produce a live experience. I’m down to creatively clown in a multitude of ways.
So let’s take big swings and make something unexpected.
